POS (Point Of Sale) -  A retail point of sale system typically includes a cash register (which in recent times comprises a computer, monitor, cash drawer, receipt printer, customer display and a barcode scanner) and the majority of retail POS systems also include a debit/credit card reader.

Ok, now that we are all on the same page what is a POS, lets talk about how technology is changing the game. Forget everything you knew about POS systems. Basic cash registers and credit card readers are out-dated. Today's POS can damn near do it all except take you out on a date! Mobile POS are becoming more advance every year. Today, anyone can accept and record payments anywhere at any time. There is no longer an excuse not to accept credit cards and provide receipts. My favorite game changer is how it can make your bookkeeping tasks much easier. This doesn't mean that you can no fire your accountant. However, it does help with being more organized and informed about the financial position of your business. Today, I will write about a company called Clover Network Inc. Listen, my posts are not meant to do your homework for you. You got to go out and do your own research (unless you pay me to do it). I'm not recommending Clover but it looks like a pretty damn good product. Research other people's reviews especially regarding customer service. Always remember that there are other companies just like Clover. Call Clover and a couple of their competitors. You have to chose the best product and company that fits your unique business needs. My goal is to simply open your eyes to the possibilities that technology can bring to your business.
